Cedar, White (A.K.A.)

Slow to medium 40' to 60' mature height. Excellent for shelterbelts, hedges, land reclamation, and windbreaks. Provides excellent natural habitat and the favorite food for deer. Tolerant of a variety of soils but prefers a well drained soil and will thrive in a marshy loam. Full sun. Hardy to zone 2. Native to MN, WI, MI, northeast US,Canada

Spire-like growth, slender and compact with soft, green foliage. Excellent for the Midwest, it experiences few burn problems . Requiring little or no trimming, it makes an excellent selection for low maintenance areas such as DOT, corporate parks , parking lot screens and windbreaks, and residential. Height ranges from 12/25'. Prefers norther and eastern exposures. Zones 3 to 8.

Originating at Fairview Nursery, this small, dense, dwarf arborvitae has soft foliage, rich green in color. Probably never reaching 3' high, it is slow growing and an excellent selection for dwarf conifer gardens, rock gardens and residential landscapes. Zone 3.

Good pyramidal form, this arborvitae holds its dark green foliage color through winter. Excellent for windbreaks, shelter belts, screens and hedges as well as foundation plants for large buildings. It will reach 20/30' high by 4/5' wide and is hardy to Zone 3.

Narrow, compact pyramidal will grow 10/15' tall by 3/4' wide. It has bright, lustrous emerald green foliage which does not fade in the winter. This shrub makes an outstanding contribution to residential and corporate landscapes and can be used as a foundation plant, hedge and screen. Will withstand temperatures to - 40 degrees and hot, droughty midwest summers. Zone 2.
