It is highly tolerant of city conditions making it an excellent selection for ornamental plantings in urban areas. Will grow in heavy clay to sandy soils; tolerant of drought conditions. Can be used in windbreaks, shelterbelts, land reclamation, hedges; can also be used as a specimen. Hardy to zone 2. Native to central Europe from Austria to central Italy

A very adaptable spruce, it has a mature height of 30' to 60' in the landscape, larger in the wild. A slow to medium grower with leaves that are 3/4" to 1 1/2" in length varying in color from grass green to a silvery blue. Prefers rich, moist soil and full sunlight. Can be used in shelterbelts, windbreaks, natural habitats and for ornamental use. Hardy to zone 2. Native to areas in the Rocky Mountains- CO, UT, NM, WY
