Our favorite Christmas tree- the fragrant fir from our grandparents' past. Fast growth , 45 to 75' mature height. Prefers acid and well -drained soil. Excellent for Christmas tree cultivation and specimen use. Can also be used for hedges, windbreaks, and shelterbelts. Hardy to zone 3, does not do well past zone 5. Native to MN, WI, MI, northeast US, Canada.

Excellent Christmas tree and specimen tree. Medium growth, 40' to 50' mature height. As a cut Christmas tree it holds its needles very well; used in the landscape it is a top performer with its dark green foliage, excellent shape, dense branching. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and a northern exposure. It performs best in full sun but tolerates partial shade. Hardy to zone 4 and performs well in high elevations. Native to NC, TN, WVA

The most beautiful of the firs, this species is irregular in its youth but becomes a truly magnificent tree, conical with 1.5 to 2.5" flattened, blue-green to blue needles, as it matures. It withstands heat and drought well and prefers lighter, well drained soil. Will not tolerate heavy clay soils. Zones 3 to 7.
